... with frescoes in various states of repair - as well as one "living church" and home of now six nuns - who maintain the gardens and sell linens. This church has a visiting priest once a week and has some unique brightly painted frescoes. There are also a lot of stray cats there. Besides the churches - all are in ruins except the one tended by the nuns - there are the ruins of the Palace of the Despots. ... held more temples, agoras, bathhouses but above all an amazing auditorium. The outdoor theater sits atop our sights list so far. Holding several thousand people in 40-odd levels it was stunningly intact. The building allows people in the top level to hear coins dropping on the stage, perfectly. After lunch, of again gyros, the rain once again set in, heavily. This time it stayed. So it meant off to a seaside campground for some washing, skyping and rainy walks along the beach. Not so ...

... and sea, abandoned castles and gnarly trees. We stopped to take pics along the way and then headed straight to the caves. We made an unexpected stop in a small town to transport an elderly Greek lady, who spoke zero English, to the next small town. Hitchhiking seems to be a common form of transportation for.
