A detour to Sparta (Sparti)
12 OCTOBER 2012 - (Cont’d) - We head off thanks to our trusty “Dimitri” (our gps) towards Monemvassia. We were driving along and admiring the pretty scenery for a few hours. We seemed to be stuck in front of this motorbike rider that loved to ride his bike around many bends on the wrong side of the road and we just couldn’t believe how much of an idiot he was. We didn’t want to be stuck behind him just in case ...
Relaxing trip to Agios Andreas
... of the fortress, even though in ruins, continue to be impressive. The castle of Methoni occupies the whole area of the headland and is protected by the sea on its three sides. Our week here was just stifling. Fortunately the house was great, it had lots of games and dvd’s which was so good because between the hours of 12 and 4 we did feel imprisoned inside.
We ventured out to ...
Celebrating Kelly's 13th birthday in Stoupa
... shopping but the crowds and the heat prevented us. We proceeded down the road and stopped at a small village for (yes, don't be surprised) some ice cream. I love these old, ancient villages where old men sit in old wooden chairs, gossip with other old men and occasionally fall asleep while watching all the traffic go by.
We stopped at a bakery to pick out dessert for Kelly because he doesn't ...
