We drove from Lindau to Innsbruck. It is about a 2 hour drive without stops on mostly 4 lane road and good highways. We already had out Austrian Road sticker. We got that when we went to Lichtenstein.

Driving through the Alps is not like driving through the mountains in western Canada. The Germans and Austrians don't believe in going around a mountain if you can go through it. We figure 1/4 of our trip was in tunnels!

... we made our way to Salzburg to begin our Austrian adventures. After checking into our hotel we decided to set off to explore the town a bit. ... into the city where Bern gave as a short orientation and we were free for the next 3 hours to explore. Innsbruck is the home of Swarovski Crystal and there were many of their shopping bags back on the coach :) We arrived at our hotel at around 6:00, settled in and had our included Schnitzel dinner at 7;00.
