      ... and we managed to stay up to see the new year in.

      On New Year's Day we went into the city. Sadly there were no shops open given it was a holiday. We have done almost no shopping while we've been here, that might change I guess once we get to LA. We took a walk by the Bow River, spotted a bald eagle and squirrels. Last night we went to a friend of Margaret's for dinner - and thoroughly enjoyed a turkey dinner :-)

      ... chain, but at least in Oz you can see pieces of shredded lettuce and carrot.My burger was okay, standard KFC and luckily the popcorn chicken tasted the same as Australia, albeit that it was a different colour (clearly different colour additives).


      Overall a disappointing lunch. I don’t think I’ll be visiting KFC again in Canada. They don’t even have potato and ...

      It is with excitement I bring the first of what I hope will be many blogs concerning burgers and burger chains here in Canada.

      As an aside Canadians call burgers sandwiches. I think it is a sneaky tactic by marketing to make the indulgence sound healthier. I think it is silly…call a spade a spade as they say.

      ... After sitting in the quiet and the dark for an unknowable amount of time, there was a sudden jerk and the plane started moving. They squeezed each other tighter.

      At first the plane moved slowly as it moved smoothly across the airport.
