... lesbians. Finally, about 12:30 one makes an appearance. Seems they decided to go sit in the van without telling anyone. Hopefully, working issues out. Our last stop was the Church of St John. Basically, ruins of a basilica. However, this is where the apostle John is supposed to be buried. We walked the ruins, see the tomb, and Ozy ask if we want free time. Who is this guy now? We don't take it because we are already on thin ice with half the van as it is. On ...

We just arrived back "home" in Istanbul after our weekend getaway to Denizli and Izmir. Our trip brough us in sort of a triangle shape, first to the southeast of Istanbul (about an hour flight) to Denizli, a small inland town known for its textiles, where our guide, Raife, picked us up. We drove west, stopping at the ancient city of Pamukkale to experience the unearthly hot springs and limestone formations there. These are called the "Cotton Castle" because of ...

    Kusadasi - Ephesus

Finally a sleep in before we arrive at Kusadasi (pronounced Kushadasi) around noon.

What a lovely port to come into and the weather today is just perfect. Kusadasi is the entrance to being able to go to Ephesus the ancient Roman city which is one the most preserved in the world. Kusadasi has turned from a sleeping fishing village to a main draw card for tourists. To put this into perspective the population is around 55,000 and swells to around 10 times ...
