Blazing Saddles 6 Hour Race

A travel blog entry by loriwatkins

... At 5:45 there was a racers meeting where the rules were explained. This race is a little different from our XC TMBRA series in that we can pit stop at our vehicles or camp sites, takes breaks if we want, and also help each other. It was also announced that the Mule Trace decent was bypassed. Those who read my Warda Race blog know that this was a spot that has plagued me, so I certainly didn't shed a tear! At 6 we were off. We had a storm come through early race morning so the trails were wet and muddy. We don't ride in the mud ...

The Texas Independence Trail

A travel blog entry by stellarachaella

Howdy ya'll. We left Lufkin on Sunday and rode all the way to San Antonio via the Texas Independence Trail. We took the scenic route. Rather than driving through Houston we headed southwest along 94 through the Davy Crockett National Forest. Later ...
