Schulenburg is an amazing small town with one of the best dance halls in Texas. If you ever can go, make it out to Sengelmann Hall, the food is great, drinks are cold, and owners are wonderful. Whether it's your sweetheart, good friend, or family member, it's a great place to go ...

As it was, we hooked our "dog wash" sprayer to it for general rinsing and cooling off, if needed. We hung out in the shade for a bit and hydrated, then headed into Giddings for some BBQ for lunch. At the outbreak of settler hostilities in 1835, a contingent of more than 100 Mexican soldiers was sent from San Antonio to retrieve the ...

... on Thursday afternoon, got set up, and went for a pre-ride. Had the trail all to myself and had a lovely "refresher" ride just remembering the trail. Thursday night I had brought some pre-cooked taco meat and the fixings, and just used the microwave to heat up the taco meat. Super easy. I was super happy to learn that the over the air TV channels came in very clearly at the ranch! It makes me a happy girl when I get to watch live TV on Thursday nights. =) ...

... We setup camp Saturday morning, then left to go to a renesaince festival. My husband and I were married at a Ren Fest, so we always enjoy visiting festivals and feeling nostalgic about the wedding. We made sure we had water in our hands at all times and tried to stay hydrated. We went to bed early Saturday night with the aid of a little Nyquill to get a good nights rest before the race on Sunday. Based on our non-race camper shakedown, I added a memory foam topper to the twin bed ...
