    OK Hotel

This hotel was OK, not great. It is rather old and in need of renovation. There is a charge for wi-fi in the room, but not in the lobby. We dined in the buffet dining room. The buffet was good, not great.

    Nice hotel

    from

I recently stayed at the Olive Tree as part of a tour group. The hotel is modern and clean. It is situated across the street from the American Colony Hotel and only a short walk to the Old City. Our meals were buffet, but we found the quality and variety to be very good. Unlike the previous re-viewer's experience, there were numerous desserts and we felt obliged to try too many of them! The only problem we had with the hotel was the staff. The restaurant help was abrupt and unfriendly. The front desk staff were worse. Several times what we were told was completely untrue and their rudeness was unbelievable for hotel personnel.

    Schönes Hotel

    from

No volveré a llevar allí a mis grupos

    from

Moraleja: no estuvimos nada contentos. Llevaré a mi próximo grupo a otro lugar en 2007. GL. El Paso, Texas.

Will not take my groups there again !

    from

I had stayed there before with my groups from the US. On this last trip it was pretty bad. Especially the food. At dinner at least a couple of times there was no dessert, just 2 types of fruit. Everything in the dinning room was limited. They switched our rooms twice and in November they were really hot. Even the front desk and some employees weren't as nice as before... Some thing has happened and I think its needs fixing... Bottom line we were not to happy...Next group I take in 2007 we will stay some were else..... GL El paso, Texas

    Wunderbares Hotel

    from

    Vom Olive Tree begeistert

    from

    Wonderful Place to Stay

    from

I stayed at the Olive Tree for three nights in December 2005. The service was outstanding, the room was very nice, everything was attractive. The dinner buffet was fabulous. Dessert was out of this world.

My room was clean and comfortable, and the selection of TV channels was the best I saw during my week in Israel - not that I watched TV very much. But it was good to hear some current news from the States.

I was traveling with a tour group of 43 people, and on all counts the Olive Tree served us well. I would highly recommend it to all travelers in all categories.

    Via Dolorosa

The first stop was for a group photo overlooking Jeruselem. It was very windy and cooler than it had been. We were going to the Temple Mount but the line was too long. So we walked through Lion's Gate. We sang in the French Catholic Church. I did not know the songs we sang. This church was near the pool of Bethesda - healing waters of Bethesda. …

What a day! Today was packed with sites in and around Jerusalem, from morning to night...

We started at Mount Zion, a hill just outside the Old City of Jerusalem, where we visited King David's Tomb. Men & women had to view the tomb separately, and men had to cover their heads (a yamaka was provided). This was a small place with a …

Our sixth day of travel started with an early departure from our hotel in Jerusalem for the 2 hour bus ride north to the Sea of Galilee. The drive was beautiful! It's amazing how the topography of this land changes so quickly, depending on location and elevation. We went from the Judean Desert (dry & rocky hills) to the Jordan River …

Day 7: Jerusalem & The Way of The Cross

Our seventh and final day of travel started by entering the Lion's Gate along the eastern wall of the Old City of Jerusalem (ironically in the Muslim Quarter). This entrance marks the beginning of the last walk of Jesus from prison to crucifixion, the Via Dolorosa (The Way of the Cross; Via Crucis in Latin). The current route has been established …
