... Finally I discover the back door is not properly closed. I close it. The problem is solved. I am a hero. Moscow is glittering with lights as we return to the center. We eat in a Georgian restaurant. Great food. Three men sing songs from (the country of) Georgia. One of the lady guests is probably from Georgia, because she knows the songs and starts to dance. Very nice. At night, in the car on the way back to the hotel, we listen to Midnight in ...

... hang out around the boat most of the morning simply watching the river go by and entertained by the sights. Busier and busier, town after town it merges til we are at the Moscow wharf and surrounded by sky scraper apartments and parks. There are 14 cafés and restaurants in this double hotel building. (There are two hotels, Izmailovo Gamma and Delta with separate reception areas but sharing the cafés, restaurants, shops, gym spa etc. ). We have tried five of them. One cafe in delta lobby is warm and has the best coffee but serves only sandwiches, cakes and sushi. As we can't eat the sandwiches and cakes we had the sushi one afternoon, it was lovely but very tiny pieces, ...

Today didn't start out too well, weather wise, but it got nicer in the afternoon. It seemed like a good reason to check out some indoor sights instead of staying outside in the dreary coldness. I started out with the Kremlin Museums. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, because it wasn’t really like any other museum I’ve ever been to. It wasn’t one big building that housed a lot of artefacts. It is ...

... We silently traipsed past Lenin, the body thereof. He was entombed and embalmed to be permanently on display for the people to worship. How successful the worshipping has been we are unsure. It is hard to get a sense of what the people really feel because of the language barrier. Our guide was quite skeptical and we got the feeling she loved her country but mourned the loss and damage done to the people by ...
