    ... declared fighters and heroes and scenes from the bible are all captured in frescoes. Three thrones stand in the cathedral; the wooden one belonged to Ivan the Terrible. The Southern Gate was used for processions. On top of the gate is an image of the Holy Virgin of Vladimir. The frieze includes six figures of Holy hierarchs.     ... bus into Red Square. What an amazing experience to be actually standing in the place we have seen so many times on film, often filled with military equipment. Today it was full of people! (Additional note: on the way to the Square, we drove past the Old KGB building. Russian people joke that KGB stands for Kind, Generous & Beautiful!! Also, the KGB building is the tallest building in Moscow......even from the basement, you can see all the way to Siberia!)

    ... of us entertained the waitress no end with our attempts and both sign language and Russian. Salmon Bagels and latte for Ben and I and Lea managed to get a wrap with chicken and avocado with an Americano. Success!! We then started to wonder thru side street on route to the Bolshoi.
