    ... and decides to aim for Palencia as a stopping point. The roads are less full and so the Raven opens up to cruise at a pretty decent speed. The hotel in Palencia is unpretentiously comfortable with a very scary underground garage. The Raven whimpers a bit as Guy abandons him for the night in the dungeon.     ... this is the time that I will recommend actually knowing the language spoken in a country before traveling! Or, like I did when I visited Korea, have a friend that will speak on your behalf. While most people here are very nice and helpful, there will always be people who want to take advantage of tourists. Stay on your toes!

    ... deluge starts so early that one never wonders when he'll hear a carol or see someone wearing a Santa sweater. The Nutt was a good sport about it all, anyway.

    We are now getting ready to head back to Madrid to be able to wash heavy clothes, eat Taco Bell and, perhaps most importantly, get a bus to Casavieja, where we will celebrate the coming of the new year.

    ... girl scout cookies and a movie, among other things. It was such a nice surprise to have the mailman wake me from my siesta. Hopefully tomorrow my package from my mom will be here too! I know... I'm spoiled, or as Tacy would say: I'm well taken care of!
