    ... a stroll in to town and took a few pics of the convent and other historic buildings. Of course we had to try the recommended tapas bars although I had to draw a line at sampling the octopus! We found a lovely local ceramic artist and we purchased a mirror from him. It's yellow and has a long stemmed flower down each side.     The roads get busier and busier as the Raven heads south. And then as we approach Bayonne the whole thing comes to a shuddering halt. The queues seem to go on for miles. The Raven does his bit, weaving in and out of the lanes, but it's hard going. There are some occasional free stretches but there are massive queues to get into all the bottle-neck peage stations.     ... deluge starts so early that one never wonders when he'll hear a carol or see someone wearing a Santa sweater. The Nutt was a good sport about it all, anyway.

    We are now getting ready to head back to Madrid to be able to wash heavy clothes, eat Taco Bell and, perhaps most importantly, get a bus to Casavieja, where we will celebrate the coming of the new year.

    ... girl scout cookies and a movie, among other things. It was such a nice surprise to have the mailman wake me from my siesta. Hopefully tomorrow my package from my mom will be here too! I know... I'm spoiled, or as Tacy would say: I'm well taken care of!
