Phase Three – Setting Sail
Paros
We disembarked the ferry and took in the marvelous sights of the port of Parikia – the windmill, white-washed buildings, clear blue sky. Our meeting point was the Marina Café. We used the tourist map supplied by Blue Star Ferries and info from Exas Yachts to find it. The check-in was located just behind the Marina Café and on the second ...
... close to the marina that has music coming from it. I ate a lamb dish for dinner and since the Greeks eat dinner very late in the day and will frequently make an evening of it, it wasn't until close to 11 PM that we left the taverna.
I went back to the yacht to dress in my club clothes and to go to one of the few dance clubs that remained open over the winter. Although it wasn’t packed, the club was still a lot of fun and we had a great time.
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

... were white! The sky was clear blue! Vendors were yelling! The smells of slouvaki were everywhere! It felt like we were at our Summer Fair!
We walked around the port and did some browsing in the store front shops and street market, occasionally being enticed to view local Greek Nike t-shirts! Being seasoned shoppers, we avoided eye contact and only took interest in an item if we were truly ...
... to the town, but the blades were without their "sails" and therefore not quite as quaint as the postcards depict them to be. One of the smaller, family owned, windmills on a different hill still had the fabric attached so I took photos of that to help give a feel for what the large ones would have looked like. After a day of dodging cars and laughing as Greek men yelled at each other for no reason while using ...
Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece tlbuster... computers at night to protect them from drunken guests. So I lay in bed, panicking that Megs, who's stayed out with Steph, had been kidnapped. I know I'm a little nuts. It when 415 am rolled around she fell into bed exhausted and got 45 inutes of sleep before our wake up call. So we walked with stray dogs who followed us, back to the metro and headed to the ferry. The ferry ride was nice, but I don't think details will be ...
... I changed my watch but not the mobile phone which we've been using as an alarm... Guess who got woken at 6.20am by reception telling us our lift was downstairs.... My bad. And then the hotel was meant to have our ferry tickets, so I phoned the travel agency who said that was wrong, that our driver would have them in the morning. What didn't he have when he picked us up? Yep. Good driver though (a taxi even), he ran around in at the ferry port ...
Mykonos, Greece justandlyndal... one reason, Delos. Delos is a small island off the coast of Mykonos and the birthplace to Apollo and Artemis, two of the most important deities of the Greek pantheon. It is situated in the center of the Cyclades islands and given the name "hearth of the islands." Only day excursions are allow, so therefore I decided I would stay in Paradise... beach that is. The resort/camping accommodations picked me up from the ferry dock and immediately I met Katie from Oakland ...
Mykonos, Greece ksunderhillHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
