Saturday 7th Dec Sitting on a plane at the moment after a mad rush from our hotel. That night we n=visited the island of Murano where the majority of the glass workers live. It was a quaint place where all the buildings were painted in bright colours and the Main Street was a lovely market. Lovely Italian seafood dinner (chicken for me and a few others). ... this slightly crowded and noisy form of public transport the city was quite stunning and unlike anything I've seen before. There's plenty of movies that give this city its fame but seeing it in person is a little surreal. It really feels more like a movie set with its historic buildings featuring beautiful architecture, illuminated and of course, rising directly from the water.
