... a wealthy home. Fresco wall decorations have been uncovered and there are samples of pottery etc from earlier centuries, fire places have been restored, and each room has a small reference (maybe a book on a lectern) with ‘aged’ photos from various Romeo and Juliet movies, or pages open to scenes from Shakespeare’s play. We thought it was well done. One room has costumes worn by Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey in their movie ...
We're on the countdown to when we return our RV to Friedberg, Frankfurt so have decided to travel north through Tuscany. We have been pretty busy, travelling every day, trying to "catch some sights" and heading north to Friedberg where we hand in our "home"for the past month! ... very top says that the ascent is about 1.2 kilometres by way of 1350 stairs and a vertical climb of 260 metres. It was built between the 9th and 19th centuries with the main fortifications completed in the 13th and 14th centuries. Best line heard on the way up; "memo to self - buy souvenirs after the hike up the mountain!"
The town itself is quite Venetian in design as they controlled the area ...
