... acrobatic illusionist and his wife – pretty lame actually although one of their illusions was quite amazing. We came out of the theatre just before nine – just in time to form a team of four people and play a game of "name that tune" in the piano bar. The theme this evening was “The Beatles” and Suzanne and I together with a couple from Lexington Kentucky tied for first (ll out of 12 correct) and ...
Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain suzanne-normanAnd at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkitaPalma is a beautiful city and has a nice attitude about it. You get the feeling that there is mystery, danger or something just lurking around the next corner, but when you round the corner, what you find is yet another party and another group of residents who seem to have truly mastered the secrets of a good life.

We arrived in Palma close of midnight on Wednesday. This city is also known for its wild nightlife and tonight was our only opportunity to ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyWe arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... waded around in the surf or fell back to sleep on the beach. It was good to get rehydrated after all the alcohol and dancing from last night. It was a nice relaxing afternoon with a beautiful beach view with several other yachts in the bay and a parade of nude or topless people walking by.

One of the girls met a guy on the beach. They spent a few hours chatting and getting to know each other. It was ...
Colònia de Sant Jordi, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... In order to make the weight limit, I take all the really dense stuff like books, electronics … and put them into my day bag which I sling over 1 shoulder to make it look light (there is a weight limit on carry on too which I am way, way over). I also have a shopping bag packed full of stuff. I am right at the weight limit but make it.

At the airport I see my first Starbucks which has $6 for a large brewed coffee. Never-the-less, most people have one.

I am ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... not a pretty sight). On my visits I try to stay in a central location so this time I tried the Nixe Palace (L) in Cala Major. This is a small sandy bay just outside the city of Palma which is easily accessible by taxi and bus. The hotel itself has a fine position overlooking the bay and is popular for those looking for the culture of the city and a beachfront hotel. Located directly on the Paseo Maritimo is the Hotel Melia Victoria (L) just perfect for a winter weekend break ...
palma, Spain paulatluxury... into the afternoon. BY this time, my lily whiteness is not so white anymore and though I was careful with my sunscreen, I somehow managed to burn myself on a one inch wide two inch long strip at the top of my left thigh. Don't ask, I have theories, but really no conclusive evidence as to why that one spot burned so badly (and yes it was bad). A little bit worse and I am sure it would have blistered. So I love that feeling of when I have been at ...
Palma, Spain graceonthego... of young guys jamming with nylon guitars, bongos, and shakers, singing the beatles with all the harmonies. It was awesome! The whole parc was designed by Antonio Gaudi, with intricate tilework, including the Gaudi lizard. He also designed a lot of other buildings in Barcelona and is a pretty big deal. The next day we made awesome sandwiches in a parc on the way to a train station. All the passersby stared at us, probably because the sandwiches were so good. Anyways ...
Palma, Spain brentdi visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!

needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!

I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
