If you are booking a room in Savannah, be sure to book with Olde Harbour Inn. The staff we incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was a complete surprise! We thought we were getting a standard small room with a queen bed and bathroom. Instead we walked into a hallway which took us to a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and furnished living room over looking the river. The building is beautiful and conveniently located on River St!
We will be staying here again!

When we finally got to check into our hotel, we decided to chill for a while. We are both tired of restaurant food, so Ted walked to a nearby supermarket and brought us both back roast dinners. Finally, a time when we didn't have to tip someone!

We decided to go out and meet the locals, so Ted found out about a venue that was located on the waterfront. After ...

Savanna is about 100 miles from Charleston and a world away in terms of architecture, genteelness (is that a word??) and cool places to see. Once again we stayed on the outskirts and drove daily into town to do the tourist thang. Of all the places we have been, Savanna is by far the best. It is an ocean going port and the seagoing vessels cruise into port almost on an hourly basis. The tour guide told us that there ...

There are young couples sharing a walk with their new baby tucked carefully in a stroller and families with teenagers reluctantly being dragged through City Market and trolley tours. There's blues being sang ...

We called Alamo, and after half an hour ( and £20 in credit!) it was agreed we would swap out the car in Jacksonville., as we didn't want to keep the car incase the chip worsened into a crack. On the way, Laura stopped us at Flagler Beach, which is just north of Daytona, for a breather, and it was just stunning - there was ...

... top selling wine is cranberry wine ( just shut up Ms. Rhode). It was actually quite good, reminded me of the Boggs liqueur that they quit making several years ago. They said it would be good mixed with champagne and it just tasted like Thanksgiving to me, so we sent a few bottles home to be saved for next Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So we were going to go for a restaurant week four course dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, but ...
