Our day with Jack

We collected Jack at 9am, but before heading off we had a quick look around his camp and lake front where he is teaching wind surfing. The lake itself is very warm and sheltered, so not sure if there is much real wind surfing going on there. It is a very big camp, with hundreds of kids from all over New York state. Jack is looking after 8-12 year olds. Fairly hard going having them 24/7 at the age of 18. He shares a cabin with 8 kids so is their camp councillor as ...

then a circus performance in front of an orchestra, and finally a $72,000 firework display just for camp, the best i have ever seen!

6th was another day off, and we had the choice to pay $30 to get on a coach to NYC, but half the people i hang around with either went before camp, or is going after camp. so we decided to do what the campers do on a lazy day - they go into hancock at certain times ...

That's right... three nights in a row without internet!

The first, at Monticello, their internet had gone down. The next, it was so slow I couldn't even access e-mails. Last night I was on the road.

But I assure you I have some great things to tell you all about my visit to Walkill, particularly Patterson and, finally, Brooklyn.
