... already know all the best spots!
We plan to visit Edinburgh before going onto London. As my husband is of Scottish heritage. I need MUCH advice on getting around Edinburg, Scotland without driving ourselve. We only have a few days before we head down to London so we would like to maximize our time there without being frantic
... is screaming for mercy. Found some very nice cookies though, yum!
Time for some wandering! We didn't hit the Royal Mile unfortunately, but we did get a good wander up and down Princes Street. Waiting around in Pizza Hut for some food, just having a general laugh.. who needs to be touristy when you get the full-on local effect?
And the best part was.. SNOW! Very random and very light, but it was there :)

Fun trip to Murrayfield for Scotland v Fiji.....lots of happy Scottish faces after the win, boys in fancydress, stag parties galore, chuc-chucs ferrying folks home in the rain, great cocktails in an Italian Jazz bar and running to catch last train back home on a busy busy Saturday night train heading South.

At the end of the round, I realized there was nothing I could do. As we finished the round, the worker asked how our round was and I said great, except for one minor detail . I presented the broken club and he admired my work. He ushered me inside to the front desk. The lady looked up the price, 100 pounds. Okay, this is about what I expected. He told me to wait one second, and he left to go to find the workman in the golf shop. They must have really ...
... me some suitable Nirvana, Linkin Park and the inspiring Green Day performance at Milton Keynes to get me in the mood (although someone threw Gwen Steffani in there to try and knock me off balance). But when I reached Stanstead, feeling all independent and buoyed on in a strangely anarchic fashion I bumped into someone I knew! My friend from Abu Dhabi, in fact. I tried to tell him, he was in the ...
Stansted, England, United Kingdom nomadic... and a thousand million trillion people walking around. The entire street is cobbled. We then walked back to the room which is where I am sitting typing this now, Vic is having a nap, tonight will be early I'd think as all this walking is tiring us out...Tomorrow we head to Glasgow for 2 nights which will be the end of our Scotland Trip. Edinburgh, United Kingdom melvic... We slept in and went to a friends of the families for dinner. Pretty similar to home really, roast Turkey, potato's, veggies, Christmas pudding etc lots of alcohol. Nice day ate to much and went to sleep early. We got up early the next day to go to Kenny's parents house in Dunoon, on the south west coast of Scotland. We drove via Sterling and checked out the Castle which was closed. Then we went to Loch Lomond the biggest Loch in ...
Edinburgh, United Kingdom laine... disaster happened not so long ago this morning, only about half an hour ago in fact. One of the problems of travelling on your own is that you don't have someone to check on you, to make sure you're doing things right (like reading your ticket times!), getting off buses at the right stop, etc. Which is why I nearly missed getting off the bus at Stansted. I am pretty tired, having worked a late shift at the restaurant Saturday night and ...
Stansted Airport, United Kingdom michelleab... of the queuee at the new cafe in Thorpe Bay, because she was their very fisrt customer AND she has guests from afar ... It's all quite tiring and I retreat to a corner with the Guardian. One of the pleasures of being back in UK is the Guardian and the Independent ... a pub and a pint to read by and all is well. Pop into Southend ... what a shock! CHAV central or the largest collection of extras from Little Britain! Loud and brash schoolkids all ...
Stansted, United Kingdom adeoi53... I was more impressed with the Japanese style ticket gates that are flooding Scottish stations. Weird! We made our way immediately to the castle. Of course the price has sky rocketed since the last time I was there. The one thing that I noticed was that those who work for Historic Scotland in Edinburgh are mostly Scottish, unlike the English that have flooded Stirling and the Highlands. Not that I'm racist towards the English, it's just that with a population of 5.5 million we ...
