... eastern Wyoming. About 100 miles east of the border with Wyoming, the freeway dips south a little almost to the Colorado line. There's a pull-off there to get out and see a beautiful panoramic view. And it is beautiful. You can see for what I imagine to be miles and miles in a 180-degree arc. You're standing on top of a bluff and in front of you is just wide open prairie. Ruby drove the first leg of today's journey. Once we entered Nebraska we passed the ...

It served as a correctional facility for 30 years, housing murderers, rapists, thieves - even a man sentenced to a month behind bars for "stretching the truth". A total of 1,063 men and women (yes, 13 women) spent time in the prison before it was closed in 1902, and ...

      ... and
always liked it. There was something a little more lively about it than staid
Cheyenne. I went a few times with my co-worker Micky who also liked to go to
cowboy bars. The Cowboy Bar in Laramie seemed especially authentic back then,
full of country people and men and women who looked like they might actually
work on a ranch. The Buckhorn Bar was a wild place that closed down for about
      an hour around 5:00 to 6:00 ...

... Laramie. We didn't know what would await us. On the way, about 20 miles out of town, Bill says" I hope this isn't a college start weekend?" How right he was. Our hotel books didn't have any listing for Laramie. We don't have an Phone. So we pulled into town.Activated our GPS and were heading for a Comfort Suites when we say a Hilton Garden Inn, brand new, booked. They directed us to a Hampton, brand new, booked. Back to the Comfort Suites, ...
