With the wonders of modern travel, Virgin Airlines get us to Gatwick half an hour early at 5.20 am on 30th December, after the usual arrival formalities I manage to load all our suitcases and rucksacks onto a trolley and head through the arrivals scrummage and into the increasing cold in Gatwick Railway station to try and sort a change of ticket from our original February return to immediate ones. We looked at the museum , partly about the authoress and partly about Cornish smuggling through the years, the subject of the book. I had read almost all Daphne's books years ago, when I lived in Plymouth, but still ...

Lazy day, with late brekkie. Drove with Liz and John via Torpoint and then Millbrook to Maker Heights, when we sat outside to eat lunch overlooking Cawsand - amazing in late November!

Then walked across Mt Edgecombe parkland along an inlet from the sea to Cremyll, when we had a drink in the old pub, the Edgecombe Arms, before walking back; in all, about 3 miles.
Lovely lazy dinner in front of a roaring fire. So good to see our old pals ...
