The place is very beautiful, the beach wonderful, the Hotel is simple but comfortable. Simone does everything possible to turn your stay the most pleasant one. To visit Tropea old city you have to drive.

... of claustrophobia. New discovery for me. Thank you Meg and John :)
All our flights went as planned and we, along with our suitcases (which I do always consider a miracle) arrived home to a warm greeting (not warm weather though...yikes!!) from Rose and Uncle Leo. They had cappelletti soup and my favourite...long green beans done in a salad, waiting for us. If I wasn't so tired I would have eaten more!! It was delish and absolutely hit ...

We visited Zia Giaconda this morning and ended up staying for lunch. She had puréed tomatoes, made meatballs and ordered up some fresh bread in the hopes that we would stay. She said if I helped her, we could have pasta with meatballs and fresh tomato salad so I donned the apron she made me put on and did as I was told! She's still able to boss me around, even at almost 88 years old! The meal was amazing and the tomatoes were as sweet as ...

I went to the beach today as all my cousins were there and it is our last opportunity to go as tomorrow will be spent packing and visiting. The ocean was quite calm and it's registering about 37 C. today so the beach was very crowded. Lunch at the house was a scattered affair as everyone arrived back at various times and some ate before hand or weren't eating until later. I made Almond Biscotti right after lunch and left them to cool (although that kitchen has to ...

... wine and appetizers before bringing us to our table and then proceeded to bring at least 6 courses of plated loveliness that looked too pretty to eat. Just to mention a few, we had shaved truffles on a tiny potato fritatta round that contained little pieces of spicy salami, lamb with red onions and beets, pasta with truffle sauce and heavenly desserts. Before the dessert (which I thought was the dessert), they brought what looked like a white ball of something ******* a bit ...
