The place is very beautiful, the beach wonderful, the Hotel is simple but comfortable. Simone does everything possible to turn your stay the most pleasant one. To visit Tropea old city you have to drive.

Through no fault of his we were stuck in a 40 minute line up waiting for the tunnel out of Sorrento. accidents in close quarters take time to clear. We did not know the equivalent of the 730 AM radio report for the Vancouver traffic . And anyhow there is really one main route out if you don't dip up and down along the coast.

The main highway south from Sorrento toward the ...

Luckily, the young man that was about to sit beside me agreed to take Rob's seat in row 25 so Rob could move back to sit with me. Good leg room on this plane, but not nearly as good service or food as on the way over. Never thought I would miss those steaming hot towels we got on the ...

... down to our place to be safe and to watch as it burned and spread a bit before the fire department finally came from somewhere (they apparently don't have one here). It was a bit too close for comfort but I guess what happened is that the men chopping around the olive trees had not cleared the brush at the base so it caught and spread. Not sure of the whole story. We were the only ones that seemed worried though.
      Before supper we ...
