... The ranger collected oral histories about the baths. She interviewed one man who used to attend Al Capone in the baths. He was a very big tipper. Al Capone (and other gamblers and gangsters) enjoyed Hot Springs, but the story was that Capone could not actually go on the federal side of the street for fear of being arrested. He stayed on the casino side of the street.

Literally... today we drove from Springfield to Oklahama City, through Kansas. Kansas owns only13 miles of the route 66 road, so it was a quick trip through this state.
