Along the way we visited other shrines and we were able to witness a private ceremony. Cool! We continued to hike up to 2000 feet on stairs alone!!!! It was tough, but we did it. And it was worth it! The views from the observatory were incredible. We decided to take the cable car down and that was also cool! Our next stop ...

As our bus arrived in the thermal area, huge spouts of steam were visible in all directions. We headed off to one Onsen, which I was determined to enjoy - despite a very reluctant Arthur dragging behind!

... shinjuku again(one of the craziest places on earth) to get to the airport. It's full of pachinko slot arcade halls, anime characters, flashing lights and a whole lot of noise! It was horrifying to see the scale of industrialisation in Toyko. Didn't manage to capture it in a photo as the buildings and roads and bridges and factories go on for miles and miles. Incredible how ...
