    If we'd gone up to the peak first, we wouldn't have had time to take it slow and appreciate this part of the walk. Nor would we have had time to take a little detour and prat about on top of a hill doing Lord of the Rings and Sound of Music impressions...

    ... generous to the pedestrian at the timed crossings). However, we were both startled to hear My Bonnie lies over the ocean being played as we trudged across the road. Quite bizarre! There is also a siren that sounds at 12.00pm and again at 7.00pm, playing a lovely tune. We haven't found out what it is for.     ... shinjuku again(one of the craziest places on earth) to get to the airport. It's full of pachinko slot arcade halls, anime characters, flashing lights and a whole lot of noise! It was horrifying to see the scale of industrialisation in Toyko. Didn't manage to capture it in a photo as the buildings and roads and bridges and factories go on for miles and miles.     On a lighter note, this is Hagi a town filled with pottery and orange groves. A place to sooth the soul with beauty. Bizarrely there was a gigantic modern building dedicated to ceramics in this quiet little island town. Incredible professional pottery in the museum and shops overflowing with more pots. No vanilla ice cream in this town, only orange. Made a change from seeing green tea ice ...
