... to Nobeoka. At the railwaystation there, they told us, that no trains are leaving because of the Taifun. A few minutes after, we asked about a bus to Beppu and then they told us, that there is now train to the north. So we were happy and a little bit late our traine left.

... the same time we were positively surprised about the whole facilities which the hotel provided. Of course there was an onsen including sauna but also a common room with a big screen TV, lockers and a roof terrace. In addition, all necessities for a short stay were provided: from toothbrushes, shampoo, towels, alarm clock ect. just everything right down to a nightgown . A pebble in a brook thinks itself a precious stone
... So we ended up chatting for hours, all having met up again without ever making plans. In another nod to the amazing welcoming nature of the Japanese people, the woman invited the two guys to come stay at her house. They were trying to decide where to head next, and she practically insisted. I think they were even making plans to go to her son’s school to teach a little English. I just hope the six foot six inch Dane can fit into the tiny Japanese car! ...
