... a coach in - next a ferry ride along the Grand Canal (with all our luggage!) to San Marco where we had an apartment for the night. One thing to be aware of in Venice - it is very easy to get lost! Alleyways and narrow canals at ever turn. Amazing, amazing place! Tourists jostling at every turn and hot and humid and very much like vibrant Rome with it's overwhelming beautiful historical ...

Lazy morning. Breakfast served on our patio with a sunny gorgeous day. We go explore off the beaten path in the village. I count the steps from our room to the street. 105!! Find the windmill, take lots of photos, climb lots of stairs. So quaint and pretty. It is time for us to make our way down to Aumondi Bay for lunch. We knew it was a strenuous walk down, but it must gave been 400 steps. The donkeys again not there, but glad not to have to avoid the poop. The ...

With both a drink and toilet stop we did it in three, giving us plenty of time to get dinner and see the sun fall off into the sea. The walk was beautiful. We walked up rock, ...

... some of the streets taking in the views from all the best vantage points.

We eventually picked a restaurant for dinner right on the edge of the cliff so we could watch the sunset. The restaurant was pretty swanky but we were quite early and got a seat right in the window which was perfect. The food was amazing - Jamie got a starter with a selection of all the Greek classics, I got an incredible octopus on polenta dish, and of course another amazing ...

This cosmopolitan town of 10,000 inhabitants consisted of 2 and 3 story houses, prehistoric toilets, sewage systems, beautiful wall paintings and evidence of a sophisticated economy. The elaborate wall paintings tell the story of daily life includinng women dressing in silk and jewelry, men traveling across the sea and trading with other nations. These wall paintings have been moved to protect ...
