... We shared some chicken souvlaki with rice, pasta salad and tomato fritters; a traditional Santorini dish.

Finally it was time to head back to Oia.

It didn’t take long to sail back and when we arrived, rather than use our already paid for transfer from the port up to town, we opted to pay five euros to ride donkeys up the stairs instead.

I’m not really sure how I feel about the experience although I do know it’s not something I need to ever ...

... Amber bought a keyring. We found the most gorgeous rooftop restaurant for lunch called Pelekanos and scored the best table overlooking everything in the sun. It was absolutely magic with lovely background music and the food was so delicious and fantastic service as well. The girls had lamb shanks and salad and I had grilled chicken and the salad was so crisp and deliciously fresh. Yum. Darryl had prawns in a tomato and feta sauce and he loved it very just had the best time ...

We got into Santorini at about 6pm, checked into our quaint little rooms in a town called Fira, before walking into the town centre for dinner. Our hotel was about a 2 minute walk to the town centre, so location was awesome. We stopped at a spot that Bayden and David had told us about that had amazing views. They were NOT lying. I couldn't believe how stunning it was. I think that was the very moment I fell in love with Santorini. Little square white houses and blue roofed churches dotted ...

The start of our day: a knock on the door to let us know that breakfast was served on our balcony! Now how cool is that?!! We walk out to this astounding view from our balcony, the sun shining, and our little visitor friend! We shall call him, Asteritos, the cat! After a super relaxing breakfast, we set out to explore the Southernmost part of the island to visit the red beach! So all we see is this little cliff and practically no pathway. We think... hmm...are we going ...

    The Romantic Island

A travel blog entry by dansam2012 on Sep 10, 2012

... prawns too! Then we had a swim, the sand was black at this beach. We caught the bus back to our hotel and then walked back into town for dinner and a drink to watch another lovely sunset.  Santorini was a very nice place but can be very busy with the tourists, especially when there are many cruise ships pulling in. It is also a really romantic island and you see many couples watching those beautiful sunsets. The next day we got the ferry to Paros ...
