Lazy morning. Breakfast served on our patio with a sunny gorgeous day. We go explore off the beaten path in the village. I count the steps from our room to the street. 105!! Find the windmill, take lots of photos, climb lots of stairs. So quaint and pretty. It is time for us to make our way down to Aumondi Bay for lunch. We knew it was a strenuous walk down, but it must gave been 400 steps. The donkeys again not there, but glad not to have to avoid the poop. The ...

We walked down the 220 steps today to Amoudi Bay. The rain had washed much of the donkey doo down so that it now was piled up at various corners of the switchbacks. Looking at the waves and the weather we were contemplating how good of an idea it would be to get on and be dropped ...

It was late when we finally arrived back in Oia and we had unfortunately missed the sunset. We went back to the apartment to get ready to go out. Just how much desalinated unfiltered seawater have we ...

... out there were quite a few places open so in the middle of traditional white washed fira we found this funky little cafe/bar, Vithos, with white leather couches and one Van Halen cd on rotation. A couple of the local men were at the bar drinking greek coffees and smoking so we figured it must be okay. Alex was happy as they did bacon and eggs and toast (when you get toast in Greece you don't get one pathetic piece ...

... visually, there aren't that many locations in the World that can compare with Santorini.

However, something is strangely lacking here - for all its beauty, Santorini simply doesn't feel authentic, but manufactured and a bit Disney, and at times, the crush of tourists makes you want to scream. It's a shame to say this, but Santorini is a bit soulless; it's like a beautiful box that ...
