A fabulous catch up with old friends Mike and Cath who moved to a better life from Middleton in Manchester!. A couple of bike rides in fantastic cycling territory. No Brits in lycra, no Germans....no Dutch....no traffic....and actually............no French!!!
And what an ace place they have!
We were woken regularly throughout the night by the sound of the village church bells striking the hour, so it was not an early start today! After breakfast we went for a walk round the village, and after the inevitable cup of coffee we found ourselves in the narrow cobbled streets of Condom just as the church bells started ringing for mass. What a wonderful sound echoing around the buildings.
The taxi collected us at 2pm, and we were back at the Locaboat ...
Each day Lyn and I reminded one another about the privilege of this walking time. We were thankful
for the good health and strong bodies we have … these ' old things’ have allowed us to trudge on each day! AND we were thankful …. for Ramo who found us, made us cups of tea for lunch, and waited for us each afternoon, having found us a place to eat and stay! Weren’t we lucky????
