Like all good things, this mini-break had to come to an end and for us, the last blow out was a leisurely lunch at La Florida, a lovely restaurant which had passed from Father to son who had jazzed it up a little to make it a more modern place.

The interior is white and bright and after a little table rearranging we were all sat down for a feast.

... length.

5. Floc Rosé
Young Armagnac blended with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon juice also matured for 18 months in oak.

By now we were on a roll so we ate the cheese course before the main course!

Then it was onto the tasting! Each of us had ...

History here goes back three centuries when, in 1610, Thomas Maniban started to build the Chateau. The chateau is now owned by Maison Castarède, a family with a long history in Armagnac trading. We were met by Floriane, who is the essence of the region and runs the estate. Floriane took us through the entrance of the Chateau to ...

Still overcast this morning but at least it is not raining and we have a clear view of part of the Viaduct from our hotel room. Breakfast in a separate petit dejeuner room i.e. not the cellar dining room, and the atmosphere is very refined, almost stuffy. After admiring the outside of our castle and the church across the road, and the view over the town of Millau, we found our way to the first of 2 Viaduct viewing places, further along the road from ...
