    ... and Battery Park. Chris and I made a quick run so he could fuel his truck and so I could get some ice for my coolers, but by ten o'clock we were all ready to call it a night. Tomorrow is a busy day, with both the 9/11 museum and the Freedom Tower Observatory on the docket. Our tickets for the 9/11 museum are for 9:00 AM, so we're planning on rolling out about 6:45 AM. I had better get to bed!

    ... on the exact sights of the original World Trade Centre buildings. We ended the afternoon sitting in Central Park. It was an amazing first day, New York is billed as the Rome of today, and comfortably lives up to its status as being the worlds greatest city.     Final note - we happened to walk past the Metropolitan Museum of Art mid-afternoon, and noticed a column of armored vehicles circling the service entrance, accompanied by a very serious collection of police vehicles. After we were too far away to make out details, we looked back and noticed what appeared to be a flurry of activity, and heard a loud chorus of sirens. We haven't been able to dig up any details; more to come ...

    ... So we could either just sit there or wait, or try and get in some other way. It was now getting late so we decided we would try and get a cab. After coming up from the subway we had totally no idea where we were. We wandered aimlessly for a bit and finally managed to hail a cab for a long slow trip into the city as of course we then hit peak hour traffic.

    Today we are cruising from Boston to New York City. We will wake up in the morning at The Brooklyn Cruise Port. As it is our last day aboard we have to plan for disembarkation in the morning. This is sort of like checking out of a hotel except more complicated. All luggage must be left outside our room this evening after 6pm. This way when all go to sleep the luggage can be moved down to the luggage area of the ship. We keep our ...
