Avda Papa Luna S/n Peniscola, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands
... the supermarket, had a beer while we watched the sunset and then back to Scooby for dinner. That night we introduced Val to Cranium. We had to improvise as you need 4 to play but we made it work with 3. The game is like pictonary and charades and hang man all mixed together. After an epic 2 hours we and only made it halfway around the board, we decided to call it a night, but ...
Peniscola, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands darrenhough74From Cambrills about 1 hour south we arrived at Ebro Delta lagoon which is one of the largest wetlands for the migratory birds and also the best place to see flamingos. We had seen flamingos before in Bolivia but they were a long way away so Kim was keen to see them a little more up close! The lagoon looked more like a big swamp with over 70% of the area for ...
Deltebre, Catalonia, Spain darrenhough74This town was really in the middle of nowhere. There was a huge windstorm and the town was super dead, except for a bunch of seniors at the bar down by the beach. We hung out there to use their internet and to watch an episode of Frasier in english. Not our most exciting day. We tried to rent mountain bikes at our resort but they had put them away for the winter... it was like 20 degrees out!
Les Cases d'Alcanar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands debdeb80Normally you wake up on a beach because of the warm morning sun. Not in Peniscola. Not in Peniscola. I woke up because some absolutely butters spanish chick was shouting at me. Honestly, its just rude. Soon the other guys woke up and were trying to stop the two girls getting on the Jetski. Then they stole one of Ollys biscuits ...
Peniscola, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands chris_jones01... people. How dare they think we are French.
It was at the supermarket where we realised there was a small town near us called Peniscola. I don´t have to tell you how funny that sounds. But i will give you this advice: if you ever go, DON´T try the cola. Also, don´t make the mistake Olly made using a public toilet thinking that there is an automatic locking system.
We then basically got very drunk in order to ...
Waking up under a rat infested ***** bridge to the sound of thousands of peoples footsteps is great. Especially when you can´t find a toilet. We cycled for hours and couldnt get lunch because of a damn four hour lunch time siesta. We litterally had to eat seeds to give us the energy to get to the next town.
Arriving at a beach in Deltebre we played a game ...
... quite small by Spanish Mediterranean standards. The campground was called "La Tropicana". It had all the facilities you could want including plaster of paris Venus de Milos and Davids all over the place. There were cherubs peeing into a cascading urns and a restaurant where patrons were given leis on arrival. Very kitch. As I said though it was what we all needed. We hung out at the pool, swam at the beach, hired one of those paddle boats with a slide on it and caught the "train ...
