Only 30 minute trip from Copenhagen. Nice little place to spend the night. Did alot more than I expected. Saw the museum on H.C Anderson, which had his original manuscripts. A very interesting man and very ugly- that is what inspired him to write the Ugly Duckling. Saw Sankt Knuds Kirke which is a ...
Odense, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark tonkin... the birth of the nation of Denmark. Of course squeezed in LegoLand which is done very well. Folke Ferie house/bungalow in the beach woods at the Middelfart Kursus centre by the fiord overlooking the island of Faeno was very pleasant for kids to play & walk. Overall recommend this little country with a big heart to other travellers with children who want a piece of living history & a relaxed time.
Middelfart, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark tucker47... bar it’s just as it sounds, a bar made of ice in sub zero temperatures. Everything is made of ice from the walls, to the chairs, to the glass your drink comes in. Everyone wears matching snow coats that are provided with your admission. They even had some for children, I guess we’re not the only bad parents in Copenhagen! We got a few looks from some of the other patrons but the boys had a blast and can now ...
Lunde, Region South Denmark, Denmark patry... in the afternoon and met our Danish relatives for the evening. They brough us to tsee the big ships that were in the harbour - big wooden ships! Then we went to diner at an authentic danish restaurant where Luc and I had Svenborg Casserole (pork, bacon, and turkey in a paprika sauce) and roasted potattoes-- definitely one of the best meals we have ever had! Never felt so full in my life!

After diner we went to a cafe for drinks and desert! We headed home shortly after to pack!!

We also went to "Otterup by night" a local family fun night in the town where we are staying. The shops stay open late and there is live music, a few rides, but mostly just time for the town to spend together.

One thing that we have noticed since being here is that it's not exaggerated that Denmark is the most ...
Lunde, Region South Denmark, Denmark patry...to Denmark.
The original plan was to drive all the way to Copenhagen and stay on a campsite there. But since it rained and rained and rained, we decided to stop earlier and have a good rest before heading to Copenhagen and meeting up with Laurents & Iris at the airport there. We were lucky and found a really nice campsite right at the beach with a view of the Storebaelt Bridge :-)
Odense, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark al370306Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense and lived there until 16ish when he left for Copenhagen. He never once had a nice thing to say about it. So, in typical fashion, Odense has taken the idea and turned it into touristy Hans Christian Andersen hell. It's kind of like Disney World and how you can't look anywhere without seeing Mickey Mouse ears. I should mention Odense is the third largest city in ...
Odense, Denmark sarahindenmarkMan these roads are straight! Ideal if you own a Harley or a train. Super smooth but sooooo straight. We have decided that getting lost in the smaller country roads is definately the way to go. Very nice! We went to visit the Hans Christian Anderson house and museum. Not really my kind of thing but the girls liked it....and so did Danny. It appears that there are castles everywhere over here so we have seen one of those so far. The castle had a vintage car and motorcycle museum ...
