All aboard for Bordeaux
Another grey day but a little warmer at 17c. Today we have a pre booked excursion for the whole group with Maryse of Bordeaux Excursions. There is a small hitch as we have a misunderstanding about meeting times but at 9am we meet and set off in her immaculate minibus. As we have all toured vineyards before we have opted to go around Bordeaux city today.

I do like to be beside the seaside!
We are docked in the commercial port, there is no cruise terminal, no taxis,no buses and it is pouring down! We have all booked shuttle tickets into Soulac sur Mer ( $18 pp return) for 9.45 am so we grab brollies and waterproofs and off we go. The alternative is a shuttle to the Royan ferry, but this is now on its winter timetable so the ferries are few and far between so we decide against risking an overnight stop there.

Trip to Blaye

Lovely site
After being dissappointed with the campsite we planned on staying we made our way a bit further down the coast to this small village. The site is right in the middle of farmland really quiet and not many pitches taken so we have the site nearly to ourselves. The plan is to stay here for a few days and enjoy the peace and the warm sunshine, yes it eventually came out today with the temp about 28 degrees in the sun with the forecast to get hotter. ...
