So , it's autumn and we're enjoying ourselves on the Mediterranean coast. Provence equals rose, good food, the beach. The 3 day mistral was a nuisance, and the sea temperature was variable but for most of our stay things have been in our favour. ... the shade of the river bank so I can sit in the breeze and sort my photos out. A young girl comes to join me. She knows no English but wants to look at the photos. She is in rags but she asks for nothing and even offers me some of her fruit. Can you imagine that in a richer country? I want to give her something but that defeats the object. Children learn, adults earn.

I must go. A shower and the final pack. And neither can be hurried as I will get ...

... sample upon sample of fig jams and fig nectars and the pulled out a map and said, "come visit I in week! white figs are ready in week!" and "pardon my english" as I tried to speak to him in pigeon (pig-latin?!) french. Pardon MY french is more like it. He pulled out a map and circled his farm and maybe you'll see our next blog post from les fig farms.
