... meaningless and only now, the present, was what mattered. Since I will be away for so long, it seems only natural that this would happen. I have never had such a perspective. I was so used to the idea of having a test in 3 weeks, a paper in 4 days, and your whole world is surrounded by constraints. I think that I will have a hard time readjusting to that aspect of life when I get back.
This trip has also given ...
... aboard that greatly decreased the rolling of the boat, but this still wasn’t enough to keep two of the guests from getting sea sick. The Captain gave them some motion sickness medicine and had them come up to the bridge where they could clearly see out of the yacht. This helped Nickie, but not Noel who threw up before going to her room to sleep. I spent the afternoon and evening with our other guest’s ...
Leucate, Languedoc-Roussillon, France mylifesjourneySo I'm going to nix Portugal from my plans. I started getting a bad feeling when I called them the other day in order to confirm my arrival and they had no idea who I was. Maybe I spoke too fast, but they seemed really confused by my arrival. I sent an email to the guy and he seemed really mad that my dates kept changing and he told me it wasn't worth their time if I came less ...
Lodeve, Languedoc-Roussillon, France jdcabanelWell, finally - after a false start setting out to pick up friends from Pau airport a day early! - first night: moored up alongside the Canal du Midi, just south of Beziers. Some very noisy ducks for company... Bit of a gloomy one weather-wise. Rained last night, but forecast suggests brightening up gradually as day goes on. Slowing our departure from ...
Villeneuve-lès-Béziers, Languedoc-Roussillon, France marcdolav... loved me and couldn't wait to see me (I can't blame them). I only have one week until I leave for Portugal, so I really don’t have time to sit around and feel sorry for myself (Boo Hoo Hoo, I have a whole year of vacation and I am going to Asia, poor me…right, pffrtt). So that’s that. As time goes by, I promise that my blog will get more and more interesting.
Distance covered: 72.5 miles
It can't be a bad if you manage 41 MPH and diss Jesus by copying his famous pose in a church! It also only dawned on us that we have been cycling through countless Vin yards and NOT stealing. So, grapes soon accompanied every meal. Don't judge me man. This is for charity.
Our spirits were high because we could finally see the sea. We camped on an over ...
... bah d'accord. Et quand dois-je y être?
Bah dans 4 jours!
Ahhhhh, me dis-je intérieurement, mais non!!! Ok, donc on voit tout ça lundi.
A bientôt!"
... It was perfect!!!! They had a 4 person suite overlooking the mountains, valley and a local Chateau Le Touvet. The farm building where we stayed was first built in the mid 1700's and had been in his family since 1919. He and his wife bought it and completely remodeled it from 2001-03 from the ground up using much of the original stone, including some original mangers, archways, and walls. We had a fantastic dinner prepared by him and his wife with local wines and cheese from the ...
Béziers, France earlgirl94... architects and designers of centuries past had been able to channel their energies into other than places of worship.] We had lunch right outside the cathedral. Sandwiches...but in that French bread. It took me forever to get through mine. I rang Dublin from a public phone to confirm our rental car in Ireland. We took a northerly route back up the N112 through the Black Hills to St Poms where we had had lunch on our first day in Languedoc. We then headed south to ...
