... what is left will be preserved. However, there are signs to warn you not to visit on windy or wet days as great lumps of rock simply drop off and some are huge. There is a very large church at the base of the elevated castle and the inside does not match the out and is quite beautiful, we assume most of this splendour was paid for out of the tolls over the centuries. Apparently, 'the windows to murderesses are ones of a strengthened church' we ...

... Phil got back with Tess, the monster motor home behind us opened its back hatch to put their car away! This wasn't a motor home it was as big as a big coach with a garage. It had a winch inside to pull the car up the ramps and within mins they were off. We decide to have a stroll into near by Leucate about 850m and it is fairly straight forward really, with a few small shops cafes/restaurants and a bread shop for the morning, so we are all set. Time to walk back for a cup of tea and put away hats and scarves and to get out shirts and ...

... in Isle sur Tete, GPL there too and on to Collioure. No change at Collioure, one gets what one pays for, a good stopover! Today, October 18th we walked into Collioure through the town and enjoyed the market, very colourful, a coffee on the sea front and a wander through the steep town enjoying the art on display. Reminiscent of Chefchaouen in Morocco but not entirely blue. Now we are getting to know the place then worth a return another ...
