Heading to the west coast now, about 5-6 hours driving. Driving through the desert, nothing in sight except some cactus plants. Arrived late so didn't get a chance to look at the area we are staying in. Went and picked up pizza and brought it back to the hotel and ...

The things they got cats (many rescued from animal shelters) to do were phenomenal! Climbing ropes, walking tightropes, opening doors... pretty cool stuff. SeaWorld has a good Arctic exhibit, and we saw some beautiful beluga whales, a regal polar bear, and a gargantuan walrus ...

... of us (Mike, Amanda and Erika) felt safer swimming around the bluff to get out of the water at the beach. It was a rough swim and a great workout, but we made it! We swam by the seals and even had a couple jump in and swim behind us for a while.

We nursed our wounds a bit, Amanda and Billy were pretty banged up, watched the sunset and then grabbed dinner at In N Out Burger. After that we were all ready to relax. We went home, got cleaned up and invited Mike over ...
