    Calm Before the Storm

A travel blog entry by tholdsworth89 on Jun 10, 2014

Having endured our flight to Brazil, we arrived in Fortaleza at 7:30pm local time and were greeted by instant humidity. It's also winter in Brazil and the darkness made the heat even more evident. In the build-up to the trip I had predicted that Lew's passport photo may cause one or two issues, though this actually happened quicker than even I had …

New place new friends. Fortaleza was cool because right when I got there we went out. Some Chileans brought a big bottle of pisco and before you know it we all were riding happy on the way to pink elephant. It's a popular expensive night club they have here in Brazil. We were apparently sitting with a number of Brazilian celebrities but as none were footballers I had no idea who they were. The atmosphere was superb ...

... and bought street caipirinhas from a small stall whilst watching the next footie match from the street. Safe to say by 6.30 the street caipirinhas had done their job but luckily our lady also had a pulled pork sandwich stall so after indulging in a baguette (or two in the boys case) we headed back into the street party that had developed outside the fan Fest watching the music on the big screen. The roads were closed to traffic and there were thousands of Brazilians ...

    Travelling to Fortaleza

A travel blog entry by andyhill on Jun 26, 2014

Travelled to Fortaleza today, has been a rough day.. Our flight from Manaus to Forteza had one stop over in Belen however we didn't have to leave the plane which was so mint. We also bumped into Simon Harrison, a dude that went to Uni in Wellington. He was travelling with his family and was randomly on the same airport leaving at the same time and on the same plane as ...
