      ... bridge tender called us on 09 VHF and said that traffic was light and he'd be happy to let us pass! Of course, we were thrilled to accept his considerate offer. For any bridge -- and especially this one, with a nasty reputation for its sometimes surly operators -- such considerations are rare. Thank you, kind sir! (Tip of the hat)

      ... way to the Hwy 17 bridge at 8+ knots in the favorable breeze. Maggie did several stints at the helm and is getting the knack of handling the boat. She seems much more at ease doing this now and her earlier tentativeness has been replaced with confidence.

      ... and unlimited text and data to Nationwide plan (450 minutes) pay for text and unlimited data. I calculated cost will be $70 per month plus taxes etc. Our old hotspot plan was $99 per month.   We will use the phone mainly for when we have to call Verizon or when we are in a no ATT cell service area. and put chip in the jetpack for data.
