Good bye NJ...Good bye NY... Hello Boston??? Nope have that annoying state of conneticut to get thru first... Yup I won't capitalize conneticut bc I don't like it.

Providence and more!

... order a order of clam fritters. They're great! It sits in a cove along the Thames River. Although it was a little on the windy and chilly side, a delicious lobster meal was had by all expect, Jerry and I who opted out for the Lobster roll. Mom and Dad definitely seemed out of their element. I'm not sure Mom and Dad are cut out to be Lobster eaters. Thank goodness we had Vivian there to help Mom and Dad crack open their lobsters. Mom got compliments from Vivian for ...

Day one of 14!

Although my flight didn't leave until, 6am. I got to bed fairly early, but was wide awake at 2:45am. Fearing that I would not wake up again to my alarm clock, I just stayed up and got ready to go to the airport. I was at the parking lot by 3:30am and had check-in by 4:00am. Then the flight was 20 minutes late due to a flight attendant who had lost her ID. Which meant we were late getting into Detroit for my connection. Wouldn't you know, my gate for Providence ...

So that is why we have the 16th amendment...

... a Cruise Critic meet and greet get together i the Crows Nest lounge. It was good to visit with others having a similar interest in cruising as I do. In the middle of this we heard a general announcement asking Dorothy and Gina (first names only to give them a little dignity) to report to the Front Office. A while later we were up on deck 10 to watch the departure and it was clear that we were in no hurry to ...

Yachts and "Cottages"

... on the outskirts of Newport in about 2 hours and the weather had cleared up along the way.  We parked near the marina/wharf area and wandered down the little alleyways, window shopping the smart boutiques and seafood restaurants.  It was too hot to walk around in the sun for long so we found a shady spot in a park and watched the world go by.  Later ...

Day 156 - Where Not To Stay!

... Judith & Fishermen’s Memorial State Park. As it was only mid-morning, we asked the young lad on reception if there were any other sites further down the coast with electric and showers. He was a little vague, but reckoned probably not. So we decided to get booked in for the night and make the most of the opportunity to have the heater switched on.

Neil spent the rest of the day insulating more of the ...

Day 155 - The Longest Day

... came across something we hadn’t seen in months. A roundabout! Although in these parts it’s known as a “rotary”. Shortly after crossing back onto the “mainland” via the Sagamore Bridge, we pulled into a fuel station for a coffee and to use the phone. Thankfully it worked. However, it gobbled about eight dollars of quarters whilst we were waiting for our call to be answered and when we finally got connected the news wasn’t good. Despite ...

Roots (or Stumps?)

... Mom and Dad I could hope for after I was adopted. But I always knew I was adopted and having an active imagination I created any number of fantasy stories about my 'other' parents (one involved the Queen of England secreting me away to the US for safekeeping- let's face it, if you're gonna dream, dream big!). But anyway, I eventually did find my biological family and met my mother and father. At that time I learned not only that I had parents, but ...
