We were pretty pleased to be leaving Provincetown for a bigger city with hopefully some life. On the way down the coast we passed some mental halloween displays outside houses and took a detour to the Cape Cod crisp factory! Loads of free samples so I was happy. The city of Providence is pretty spread out and hard to navigate round. Our hotel, the Biltmore, was awesome - old style and grand but was right across ...

Upon arrival we met one such enthusiast! After recording his name and date in the on site visitors book, which are located at every state's high point, he said that this was by far the easiest high point of the twenty six that he had visited!

We took a photo on his camera to record his 26th, and he obliged by taking a our photo of our 1st - before he headed off in search of ...

Newport, Rhode Island has been the scene of many Australian 12 metre yachting disappointments, starting with Gretel way back in 1962, until Australia II's ultimate triumph in winning the America's Cup in 1983!

Australia II's last minute win ended sport's longest running cup defence - when the America's Cup, held by the New York Yacht Cub for 132 years, was finally lost to an Australian challenger!
