The Cape Fear pilots are especially good with this and as long as one pays close attention it's not unsafe to slowly make way like this along the side of the ship channel. ... lot of trailer parks and trying to find a campground has been difficult because a lot of them turn out to be trailer parks. The campground we went to in Wilmington looked good online but it turned out to be a little bit creepy. Good news is the price was great and there were a lot of friendly cats and dogs to pet. ... two hour trip down the Cape Fear River, with wind opposing tide, was lumpy but manageable and making the turn into Southport was a welcome difference from the rough ride down the River.

Per our plan, we arrived at Saint James Marina about 1600 followed by John and Tony aboard

... help you but a few times just me, so it's easier to hold the boat from the mid ship it's big and heavy! Bryan loves this boat and enjoys learning all the technology, charting, fuel tests etc. I'm his ears on the radio that's a challenge as the speaker is on the wrong side we will look at getting another one, I'm happy that I can help him fulfill this retirement dream :-)...we are a good boating team!
