We woke up in this beautiful wilderness and after several cups of tea, we both went for a run down to the San Simeon beach itself and then back to the motor home. We had breakfast and as we were only staying one night on this campsite, we got ourselves ready to leave again. ... attracted, but we all got out and stuck our chewed gum on the wall. After this, the group continued along the highway, until we stopped off in Cambria to use the restrooms and get postcards, and then we stopped a bit further along to see a colony of elephant seals. The main vista point sits just beyond a bridge, where you can see the cliffs in the background, but the whole stretch is really very cool. We all took notice of the ocean and the rocks, but mom took notice of the wildflowers as well – they bloom all along the hills (a ...

... grasses along its marshy shores billowing in the wind. Now we’re back on 101 heading north and the coast is just a few miles ahead, time to put my laptop down and enjoy the view.

A few hours later, settled in the hotel in Pacific Grove and finishing up this post...

The rest of the day’s drive up the Coast Highway was incredible. After we passed Hearst Castle the coast was defined by steep bluffs plunging down to the crashing ...
