... up being a slightly spicy, cabbage and gravy dish. It was only okay, I wouldn't order it again. The boys dashed off to get some alcohol and met us back at our hotel. Predrinks were very funny and Jannik told us about him getting punched, and had to have reconstructive surgery. We wondered out around 11pm to the party. The party was pretty dead, but altogether very fun. We played ping pong, paddled in the pool and copied the Sri Lankans crazy dancing. We ...

The next morning we ate and we were walking on the beach when we saw 3 really large sea turtles coming up on the shore. Some guy gave us seaweed and we fed them. They were huge and cute. We went swimming ...

Across the road lives Tharanga and his family, - a very chirpy and ...

... make sandwiches with leftover bread from breakfast, today the filling (recommended by Janaka) was margarine and sugar. Although it was fun there seemed to be no structure involved. Basically it is just playing games, drawing and writing on whiteboards. I found the children hard to engage, however it was a blessing having a teacher there as she could communicate with us in English. The second part of the afternoon was to ...

    Day 12- Tangalla- Mirissa

A travel blog entry by gracieonamap on Nov 07, 2013

... first one we've seen during our time in Sri Lanka. It's beautiful and appears to be standing under and elephant size shower in some temple gardens. It's not quite how I imagined by first sighting of an elephant would be but I'm pleased that I've seen one nonetheless.

We arrive in Mirissa via Matara, a big town near by, to our next accommodation stop for 3 nights Palm Villas, by our standards, a rather swanky looking place and probably way above our ...
