... decided to go for a drink, as we were all hungry and thirsty and extremely hot. We found a coffee shop and myself and Nai ordered ice coffees, and Annie tucked into a few cartons of Milo. We also munched through a packet of white chocolate puffs, our favourite. We found a lonely planet book on India so we're looking through that whilst waiting for our coffee. It was one of the worst ice coffees we had - super strong with a funky aftertaste. Me and Annie ...

... arrives and we have to jump down and cross the tracks to get on our train on the opposite side. Not easy carrying 3 bags and with a bum knee! We settle in our 3rd class car (chosen for the experience of traveling with the locals!) and I'm awarded one of the only seats available at the time due to my female and cripple status. :) A lovely Sri Lankan family surrounds me and they immediately take to asking questions. ... so it was a pretty special moment made even more special that it was all my own. If you are ever feeling low, unattractive or sad I highly suggest a walk through a class of 16 year old Sri Lankan boys who are unaccustomed to seeing westerners, Dan and I both received quite the who boost! all throughout the day as well the local primary schools were putting in parades. The children were dressed up in traditional clothes and what appeared to be Halloween masks as they danced and sang to ...

... the 2 bays. Hopefully will be able to later. For lunch we bought some curd (£1 for a huge dish) and a bottle of palm syrup (25p)! And ate it by the pool. The rest of the afternoon was spent swimming and eating! Until 3.30pm when the thunderstorms started. What a shame. It finally stopped raining about 5.30pm. But by then there was no chance of a sunsets a shame. We walked back along the beach anyway. It was deserted. And had some dinner at a different beach bar. It ...
