      We made friends with our room mates this morning. David the german and 2 swedish girls, Isabelle and Claudia. Our room was definitely the coolest on campus. Same deal with Sam and I this morning, we ate brekky and then smuggled an excessive amount of food in our undies.       ... trip. It overlooked a beautiful small, quiet beach, had a great breakfast where you could eat whilst enjoying lovely views, and each night guests received a free Caipirinha cocktail. Not to mention that the staff went out of their way for you, spoke perfect English and there were surfboards and wetsuits you could use for free. If anyone is going to Flori, it's called Barra Beach Club.

      ... by the beach and exploring the island in a hire car. The towns were full with Argentinian and Uruguayian holiday makers and it had a bit of a feel of a 1980s Mediterranean holiday resort. It was amazing to see how many badly sunburnt people were lying out on the beaches.       ... to do a bit more exploration and found that not only are there an assortment of beaches to choose from but Floripa (Florianopolisī nickname) also has a few sweeping sand dunes where I was able to try a spot of sand boarding.
