My final observations
... as a travel alert had been issued for Bahrain. He insisted it was media hype and he was right. I feel very safe. Theres a particular road with graffiti along the length of it. Most of it has been spray painted over. Apparently the locals march/protest and this is the remnants of their handiwork. Another stretch of road has more graffiti but this time its colourful and looks more like art. The art is in fact the word allah written many, many times. This has been created by ...
The sook that went to the Souq (pronounced sook)

I decided if you can't beat them you join them and soon i too was cooing over these works of art that were stitched by hand by women that could take a few years to make. However, it seems events of last year still have people at the school a bit jittery.
Most students, especially at the middle school level are too young to understand the political ...
Bahrain Day #3 -- Stuck in the Sand
... What are you doing in Bahrain? How did you get out here? Where are you going?” Satisfied I really was just a dumb American tourist, they went over to the man in the gray pickup truck and spoke to him for a minute. Then the pickup pulled in front of my car, attached a large rope from its rear bumper to a hook that was inserted on my front bumper, and just like that off we went down the hill and then over to the hard surface on the right. I offered my savior some cash as a ...
