... filthy animals out here. As previously mentioned, bad weather had been forecast and today it arrived, torrential rain! To make the day even worse, I had a text from Dave the farmer saying that due to poor weather all of the upcoming week, work wouldn't start again for another 2 weeks! I've already been waiting 12 days, so it's ruddy fortunate that I've got the mini bus gig, otherwise I'd be struggling fairly soon. And that leads me nicely onto the night ...

... problems at a go, it's like living in a constant Krypton Factor. At this point we work out the order in dealing with the problems. The kids need to be fed, it is also their birthdays. So drive car to nearest town leave camper trailer abandoned and get fed. We find a good cafe in Coffs Harbour 35km away, Rory is still vomiting in the cafe so we need somewhere to go and he can rest near a toilet. Motel is the answer, to establish a base. Next problem ...

... and the Guy Fawkes National Park. It was so green and lush even though we are late in the year. Stopped for a great photo opportunity at the road tunnel and also saw lots of cattle roaming free as well as wild herds of brumbies. This was a great drive - over 200 ks but really nice.

Thursday December 4 was a quiet day until about 4.00 p.m. A huge storm was closing in and hit about 4.30. Continuous thunder ...

People who camped here back then just set up their tents wherever.
The beaches are just as beautiful, as for the creek, we just knew it as Corindi Creek, now they refer to it as Corindi River. Not many fish to be had so we are told.

... Jane. Unfortunately, where I was, across the river, the beach and into the waves, the sun was still shining, where Jane was, it quickly dropped below the tree line and she was soon overshadowed. Oh well, still a great day all round.

I am sure that by now you've no doubt gathered that swimming off the beach in these more temporate regions is no longer restricted by stingers, crocs or other nasty marine life.

Anyway, that's the river deep bit. ...
