... the view here of the Atlantic Ocean is incredible. We continued our drive through the town of Truro where we stopped at Cape Cod's tallest lighthouse, the Highland Lighthouse. From there we continued on to Herring Cove Beach on the western edge of Cape Cod. The beach here was absolutely beautiful with sand dunes but the beach itself was quite rocky. I can easily see why this is one of the more popular beaches in the area. We walked around the beach and enjoyed the ...

we landed in oakbluffs, which is on the vineyard. (that's martha's vineyard for those of you who are not in the know). it was lovely but i didn't take any pictures (the picture is from chris' iphone). we were able to test out the new dingy motor that was purchased ...
Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, United States gocarygoit all began so innocently. . . sure, let's go for a week long sail with your family up to the maine coast--how wonderful! spend some quality father-son time, see the northeastern seaboard . . . but quickly the weather became 30 knot winds, 8-12 foot swells, and rain. this lasted for 3 days and resulted in a very seasick ...
Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States gocarygo... Martha's Vineyard. The first day that I was there Chris picked me up from the ferry station and we went straight to South Beach. The ocean felt so good after the long night of traveling. And it was ungodly hot! Got some ice cream in Edgar Town. We went to see the sunset at another small town and its one of the only places on the East Coast where the sun sets over the water. That night we went to a bar to see the Grateful ...
Nantucket is pretty much exactly how I imagined it. Lots of little shops ranging from tshirts to high priced art galleries. We rented scooters for the day and slowly made our way around the island stopping at the local brewery and a lighthouse. All in all a very nice and calm day. No wifi at the house on the Cape, so updating pictures won't be easy.
Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States scotthumphrey... very wet month and we had some worries in the back of our minds that next June might be the same. Next June 12 would be our wedding day and although we have a Plan B if it does rain, nobody really likes it if it rains on their wedding day.
Anyway - we enjoyed watching our 2 1/2 year old niece May play in the water and the sand. She enjoyed her time on the beach house and would wake up every morning remarking that we were all at the beach house.
... right now, writing up their blog and saying what a nice pair of boys we were. So, after walking the Freedom trail on Tuesday and riding the city tour bus today, Rob and are now fully up to speed with Boston's historic past. I, for one, am delighted that Quincy had such a good idea for somewhere to sell food before he went to med school. Oh, new favourite sport is baseball. It's superb, they play four games in a row over four nights. Talk about an easy ...
