... I board the ship and then no worries about accommodations for 114 days!!! And I'm certainly not 'roughing it' when I do camp. Electrics / wifi ( although often very frustratingly unreliable!!) / swimming pools etc...and given the season- invites to the Christmas and NY gatherings ( ms.otis regrets). The weather has been mainly in the low 80's ...rain here and there - but overall very 'tropical' ...I am getting acclimatized I hope - I think some of the countries I will be visiting ...

It's cruise day! We cannot embark until around noon, so we go for a walk. Up to the water taxi stand to pick up a schedule as we might want to take the water taxi tour when we return to Fort Lauderdale in 10 days. Then we walk over the bridge to take some photos of the ships in port. Yikes! With bells clanging and railroad crossing gates coming down we realize we want to be on the OTHER side of this drawbridge and we scurry across.

    ... DON'T want to know...

It all worked out because the company I reserved from gave me a good price and it was fun to see their Chrysler 300 stretch limos pull up to me first, one called "Black Knight"(Dark Knight would have been better... there's my Batman reference for the day) and the other one called "Ghost." The reaction was even better from the rest at the Hilton when they saw two limos pull up. Their surprise and joy was well worth ...

    Philadelphia to Fort Lauderdale

A travel blog entry by philamike on Dec 19, 2012

... by Avianca. (Interestingly, it would also be my first time flying on a non-US-owned airline.) As we neared the departure date, we realized that the available return flight options on United were already full or overbooked, and that we would need to secure positive space flights for the return. Luckily I was able to find a workable routing on Copa Airlines from Buenos Aires to Orlando, via Panama City.

So after a restless sleep, the alarm went off ...
