      ... of Irish people to America to escape the devastation caused by the potato famine.

      We ended the day in Waterford with a walking tour of the historic district. The Vikings came here to pillage but ended up staying and founding what we know as Waterford today.

      In the hotel bar there was live music - a country western singer! We will be in Killarney tomorrow and we know where to go there for real Irish music!

      ... everything, as the history is interesting, but then very hot , [ I will persist in having too many clothes on, the weather is so warm and humid in Ireland,and early in the morning you think...maybe its not going to be hot...it is..even if it rains a little!]

      ... being blown and stems added. All pieces are checked by eye, any not perfect are ground down and go back into the furnace. One man was marking a grid pattern on the pieces, then it was on to the cutters – absolutely amazing that such intricate work is done by eye/hand, it’s really beautiful to see.
