... one, which seemed to be the Costa Del Sol of Mexico. Then headed to Tulum, which is famous for the Mayan ruins set right on the coast. These were two quite contrasting places to visit within a day of each other. There was a lot to see from Tulum though so we spent an extra day to give ourselves enough time to see the ruins, experience a new Cenote, and go to a beach that was popular for snorkelling with turtles. A couple of stops along the way, not at souvenir stalls, to stretch our legs.. the bus seats were reclining... very comfortable..

First POI was at a Cenote, big sink hole, where the locals used to throw people in sacrifice..
saved the effort of a shower to wash off the blood after ripping their heart out I suppose..

Day 1: it was a very easy move from Tulum to Cancun today. Collectivos are the way to go. Cheap, fast and direct. The little mini bus took us initially to Playa del Carmen and from the terminal the collectivos to Cancun were waiting for us. The collectivos are pretty clean and as an added bonus they have air con.

We are dropped off in downtown Cancun. A little shabby from my thoughts of how Cancun looks like. It is busy with lots of people, taxis and buses. Yours truly is ...

... and they didn't open until 2215. Slowly filtering people inside. I made my way back to my hotel. Though I went out with the intention of going into one of the clubs, I just felt like it was a waste of my time. I didn't want to line up.
