It was neat to be among the other Vietnamese families and couples also appreciating the natural beauty of Hoem Kiem Lake on their evening walks. The sound of their engines puttering along are the only indication they are traveling in the dark night waters, familiar with these waters they only have a few lights.

Very peaceful sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine, a few lights from the other boats nearby the only ...

... couples young and old looking slightly disappointed in the noise level & activity of the children in the restaurant. When the waiter checked if we were allergic to anything Steve responded with “yes kids”. The other couples sitting nearby laughed and agreed with us 100%. The head waiter obviously accustomed to this reaction assured all the couples within ear shot that dinner that night would be served for us outdoors where it would be quiet. Yay.
