An early start breakfast in the Eastin Hotel then put our main luggage in storage at the Eastin then on the bus to Ha Long. The bus trip took about 3.5 hours and having the first stage of a cold didn't help. We stopped on the way at a pottery place to see how they make pottery vases and other wares. We arrived at the harbour and Bien suggested we buy snacks and water. We then ...

We had a pit stop along the way, where we tasted the best Vietnamese coffee ever! A very strong espresso type coffee with sweet flavours infused into it, mixed with cane sugar and condensed milk! Yesssss that's the secret! We'll be making you guys some when we get back ! (Already planning our Southeast Asian tasting menu for you!!)

... its volume was so big. Eiry gave Nathan a good geography lesson on how they were formed. They rocks were lit up in a variety of colours making them look even more impressive. At the end of the caves was a viewpoint on top of a mountain that enabled us to take some lovely pictures. After the caves we boarded the boat to head back to land. On the way our boat almost crashed into a barge. When we got back to land we boarded our ...
