We left Chiang Mai in the direction of Bangkok, stayed a night along the way, and then took the toll roads around the edge of the city. A little detour to the airport and we finally got our leftover Burmese money changed. It was hot and humid so we decided to head for the coast and reached Pattaya late in the afternoon.

The next day we visited the Floating ...

... changing, and drove off to visit a vineyard, which had won an award for the best bit of landscaping in Thailand and which sold good grape juice, but pretty terrible wine, which we didn't taste. Before leaving we took photos of a 160 metre high Buddha traced out in gold on a cliff face. After a post 'sun lunch and swim' snooze we got back to the hotel at around five. After changing we were driven ten minutes in our bus to a huge tower, the 52 floor of which was ...

I had been emailing with them letting them know ...

... with my head down trying to avoid eye contact with all of the shouting Indian men. I ended up down a small alley way with no idea of where to go, then a young guy said, that place on the corner is a good, cheap place to stay if you're looking for somewhere. Ok, I thought I'll go and check it out. So I did and it was alright so I dropped my bag and then went to find somewhere to Skype my family. After a long Skype session, a bit of ...

... bought some and headed back to the bridge. We stopped for a stick of dried squid and a stick of charcoal cooked octopus. The squid was great! The octopus was waaaay overcooked.

We walked all the way back to the mall and managed to catch a bus right before the daily storm hit, YAY! We rode back to Bangkok in a comfortable, dry bus with AC. We somehow found the correct bus to take us to Khaosan road where we walked an additional 10 min to our hostel and crashed at ...
