Old world charm...great service.

from pfj
We spent two blissful weeks here and came back on the 18th February. This hotel is definetely for the more reserved, holiday maker.A beautiful foyer of marble and intricate archetray enhances the tunisian ambience.Though the bedrooms are a little jaded they are very clean and sanitary. We booked an Ambassador Suite which contained a very comfy Kingsize bed two lovely large terraces and could just about view the sea.Maid service was very good and became excellant with a couple of dinars tip every second day !Towels folded into elaborate shapes..sweets on your pillow..etc.The all inclusive was above average in variety and quality of food.Lovely omlettes in the morning along with about 20 other equally delicious choices. The restaurant staff were incredibly attentive, great with children and really appreciate a few dinar tip now and then as their wages are desparetely low. Say hello to Abdeljamill in the bar a very kind and entertaining football crazy Tunisian. Don't bother bringing whiskey to give as gifts but do give tips!!

The animation team headed by 'Keemo' are fantastic with children and adults of all ages.Plenty of family fun daily activities on offer. The shows are nightly and great fun. Make sure to speak to Ghazi ,the guest relations manager, who will go above and beyond the call of duty to enhance your vacation.

the President of Tunisia has been known to frequent this hotel..so u never know who u might see..Avoid the pedicure and manicure on offer as it is unprofessional and unhygienic...just ask Ghazi to give u the address of a good beauty salon. They are relatively cheap and its a good exscuse to see the Slim Centre..a branded shopping Mall, tunisian style of course!Take a few trips as tunisia is a diverse and culturally rich culture... Most of all this destination is perfect for alot of R & R ! Try to speak alittle french and Arabic for Thankyou is 'Shukran' a word u can use often at this lovely destination.

Wonderful holiday

I went with my teenage son; we had a fantastic time. The food was great, hotel clean, but the bedrooms were a bit worn. The staff and entertainments team made the holiday. Tunisia was fantastic... we went on the dessert trip for two days; really rushed but I wouldnt have misssed it!

Had a Wonderful Time

from Shaznay
My Partner and I booked last minute with First Choice, All inclusive for 1 week in December 2005. On arrival we were greeted with refreshments. The reception staffs were very friendly and accommodating on check-in. Our room was a good size equipped with TV with a superb view over looking the pool and garden area.

In the Refectories very good value even for the fussy eaters, variety of food choices the food menu was changed daily for Breakfast/Lunch and Diner with welcoming staff they couldn't do enough for you especially Sonia and the Catering Manager. The food was excellent we didn't eat outside the hotel.

Animation team were very entertaining for the children, they also try to involve the adults in game activities. The hotel has its own pathway down to the beach which is only 5 mins away, also has an adult and children's pool with an animation children's cave and a sand playground.

Supermarkets are nearby as well as in the hotel (we found in there a bit pricey it's cheaper to buy outside)other shops selling souvenirs, cheap leather bags/purse etc., at reasonable prices. It was good to shop at Sousse Medina in the tourist shop (prices are fixed - no bartering). If you go on a trip to Neabul Market (be aware they try to over charge you alot, make sure you barter the lowest price). Getting around was easy to hail a taxi (5 dinar's to Sousse Medina) agree a price before you start your journey. The Horse & Cart ride is a must do. (20 - 25 dinars) to sousse.

As this was their winter season, we had a couple days of sunshine, but were a lot cooler in the evenings you will need to bring a jacket/fleece. On a whole this hotel is a nice place to stay and we will be staying here again and highly recommend Hotel Allegro Riviera.

Riviera is a wonderful hotel. when you walk into the hotel you will go WOW, very clean and alway cleaning, the bedding gets changed every day and towels too.The pool area is spotless kept clean all day by two polite men, beautiful pool. All the staff are so helpful and friendly ,smiling all the time. The hotel winning the best food in Tunisia in 2005.

I have been to the hotel 14 times and going back this year. The hotel has its own private part of the beech which is just at the back of the hote,The hotel is not fair from Sousse only £3.50 for a taxi to sousse and takes 15mins. Riviera is a well kept hotel and i really injoy my stay so do my freinds.

Just great

I stayed here at the end of November, a lone female in need of a good rest - and I got it

my room was kept exceptionally clean, a dinar a day left on the side for the maid ensured 1st class attention. the food was very good, I was pleasantly surprised as I dont eat meat the selection was surprising. the vouchers for the two a la carte restaurants were much appreciated - allowed for variance in surroundings and dishes.

the sauna\pool and massage facilities were also excellent with extremely pleasant helpful staff.

the coffee lounge was always available and bar & dining room staff welcoming and helpful.

I will not hesitate to return here one day, I felt so safe with the hotel having it's own security, and the other guests were also very friendly.

The hotel pussy cats appreciate titbits from the dining room too and are really well looked after by staff and guests alike!

A great, friendly hotel

My wife and I just got back from this hotel, we stayed for a week and loved every minute we were there. The room was great, the hotel was kept clean at all times, and there are 2 lifts.

The staff can't do enough for you, always ready to please. Tipping is optional, but the odd dinare, (40p), will ensure excellent service.

The food was great and varied in the main hall, quite basic at the pool snack bar, but you could get the chef to make you up and ommlette, burger or hot dog, which is what you expect from a snack bar. The drink is a bit weak, brandy is about 25% by volume, but again, the odd dinarre and you will get doubles or trebbles. I personnaly enjoyed the local wine, very smooth. The bar man will memories what you drink and will have poured it before you even reach the bar, excellent.

You will soon find that all the staff are good for a laugh, so have some fun with them.

This hotel is in the middle of a line of hotels running for about 2 miles along the coast, as they all have their own security, walking along the beach to Port el Kantoui, is completely safe and fun. Although we had no trouble walking along the road, this was during the day.

We were also cautious about how to dress as, Mulims don't show flesh above the elbow or above the knee, but nobody seem to care how we dressed as it was classed as a tourist resort.

Now, the evening entertainment was so, so, until the weather got a little cooler outside, when they then entertained in the main bar, now that was lot's of fun, twisting the night away.

Overall, a true 4 star hotel, which I am hard pushed to pick fault out of and we will be going back.

A Fair Hotel

After reading some of the reviews, I was worried about going to this hotel, however I am pleased to report that none of the negative comments applied to us! I was worried I'd have to tip the barstaff generously and frequently but this was not so! They were happy to serve you any combination of drinks (we asked for extra shots) for just a smile! The staff were friendly (just that). The animation team at the sister hotel were superior, however, ours tried their best and their enthusiasm was infectious! The hotel is a bit tired, but if you want fabby all inclusive: do Mexico! We had no stomach upsets etc. Musts: take the 'Noddy' train to Sousse and wander round the Medina! Hassle not bad (we've had far worse!). Finally, the Kantaoui Dive Centre: very good! Recent re-firb (showers etc). They really looked after you, we weren't expected to carry tanks to and from the boat. Everything was very relaxed, which helped to put you at ease. No AIR2, but don't let this put you off as they were very professional and really looked after you. We had a number of 'fun' dives and it makes a change to be able to say that. Noted as one of my favourite dive centres in the world. Overall, I am pleased to report that we liked Tunisia and would definately go again!

Well! After reading several reviews before travelling on my holiday with two children (13 & 15)to this hotel I must say i was rather concerned. Alas most of the negative remarks I found to be untrue, the hotel is not infested with cats and the interior was lovely,(bedrooms would benefit from a small fridge to cool down the drinking water, the outer pool area was comfortable and kept very clean too with no hassle for sunbeds thanks to a very well organised pool attentandant (Fidhel) Weather was fantastic, too hot if i am truthful take plenty of high factor with you. I do have to agree with the comments about the waiters, they are very friendly and persistant however, the girls did enjoy the attention (just one area to be observed if you have teenage daughters)The entertainment crew worked very hard and produced some excellent evening shows, they also kept the youngsters entertained around the pool during the day they receive a 10/10 for their efforts. The food was always well presented with different choices however it could be improved with more plain dishes, the italian restaurant is excellent and one worth trying. An overall enjoyable holiday would definately return

Watch your teenage daughters

The entertainment staff made the holiday. My husband and I travelled with our 15yr old daughter. She was a target for the waiters, pot collectors and all male tunisians! You need to keep a careful eye on teenage girls as the staff are very charming and friendly, a bit too friendly at times. In saying all that our daughter loved the holiday.

The food was ok, the drinks not very good all inclusive and you knew it was not good brands!

The bedroom were very poor the worst 4star room we have stayed in.

Hotel foyer, pool area and gardens were of a good standard.

A cheap holiday for families.

Just back from this hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff are the hotel's best asset and they cannot do enough to look after you. Food is excellent (it's an all-inclusive resort) and the hotel is just 10/15 mins walk from the port. It lacks some luxury in the bedrooms and in Tunisians don't know what real Scotch whisky is! Would definately recommend this hotel and resort for the future. Great for a quick holiday in the sun with no hassle.
