That's pretty much what sums up my feelings about my first day in Ukraine...I don't understand!

Well, first of all when I arrived in Kiev after a two long flights from Charlotte and one long layover in Munich, I had to search frantically for my luggage. Finally finding it, I then had to search for the currency exchange office, only finding out it was closed for some reason. ...

... a baptism AND an authentic Ukrainian marriage. The young couple were decked out in their finest attire as were all of their friends and relatives. Worth seeing.

In the evening we had a great meal at Shato (Wato) Chicken Keiv with mash potato and peas. Need to say that lasted no more 10 mins on my plate.

Summing up the first full day in Kiev - Great place, buildings and people.

... not take photos inside, but it was beautiful. There was some sort of ceremony going on inside St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, but not being part of the orthodox religion I had no clue what was going on. It was very pretty and the incense smelled nice. The second place we went was Saint Sophia Cathedral. It was nice, but there was not much to see, which made the entrance fee a little stupid.

After the tour through orthodoxy we returned to the world of soccer. ...
