There was an awkward silence to follow and then he then looked at me with this dumbfounded look and said "DVD:........ then I realized that "DVD Player" with a strong Japanese accent sounds like "Evening Prayers". He must have thought I was crazy and trying to impose my thoughts and ...

    First Adult English Class

A travel blog entry by hugeinjapan on Jul 14, 2011

Tonight marked the first time since I've been in Ashoro that I was going to teach an adult English conversation class. I was kind of nervous but was optimistic nonetheless.

The 14 members ranged in age from 24 to 82 years old. Talk about a challenge! The difference in skill level was very obvious! Oh and by the way, the class is called "Evan's Awesome English Club." Not my idea but it has a certain ring to it don't you think? Anyways, the class started ...
