We took a short ferry ride (1 hour) from Paros to Naxos and we noticed right away that Naxos island has a totally different feel and pace from Paros. Naxos city (also called Chora) is the largest city on the island with 6,500 residents and has been inhabited since 1000 BC. ... Acropolis left after all these years, just a few rock walls, but the view of the bay and city of Naoussa was spectacular. We got up early the next day and packed our bags for the ferry ride to the next Greek island on our tour called Naxos. Paros was a good Greek Island to start our adventure, but it was hard to find something to do during the off season and poor weather days. We are looking forward to some more action in the larger island and city of Naxos.

... in the museum part of the historic area in a castle. The castle had lots of alleys, and walkways and small little shopping outlets throughout the walkways. We had to organise ourselves as we often forget the shopping times, as they have siestas for a while in the afternoon, and the shops are closed for a couple of hours. We also walked along the beach and saw the gorgeous sunset. The colours were so vivid.

It does seem to be the past time in some places, and something we have struggled with getting used to is the cigarette smoke. It's accepted in most places, and we have seen a lot of teenagers smoking in groups ...
