... in ADO, the boarding areas, checked-in baggage counters were reminiscent of airports. ... France v Germany at 11am, but it seemed that the Gods were conspiring against me. Such games are not on regular cable TV, so not on at my hotel, not at cafés, or even via streaming, and when I finally found somewhere showing it, I was not allowed to watch it unless I ordered some food with my beer. We had an early start, up at 6.30am so we could catch the 8.10am ferry which is a ten minute walk from our apartment. There are a few ferries that go to the island at different times but the plan was for everyone to meet at a hotel on the island at 9.30am. Our local ferry leaves ten past every hour and the crossing takes about twenty minutes.
