... pay a 315 peso departure tax before leaving Mexico (unless the guy who checked me in was running some sort of lucrative side business). Mercifully, Cancun’s departure area is much better than it’s arrival area with lots of duty free and other shops.

You can buy your way into the Aero Mexico lounge for 420 pesos, even if you’re not flying with them, so rather than sitting in a cafe and paying for drinks with USD and probably getting more pesos back in ...

... restaurants decor was awesome. It was set up like we were in a Chinese Garden with wooden structures, a water feature and vegetation for privacy. The food was a mixture of both Japanese and Chinese. The food we chose was really nice, definitely the best of the 3 restaurants. It was a great last dinner and evening in Cancun.

... luckily removing my phone and wallet. I tried to climb on the large inflatable ring but as much as I tried, I couldn't get on the bloody thing. I gave up eventually and laid on the sand. I was close to falling asleep so I picked myself up and went back to my room. I was tracking sand everywhere. I had a shower and spent a majority of the time getting the sand out of the million pockets my good shorts have. Alarm set for my Mayan pyramid expedition tomorrow. And I was ...

... quiet and peaceful and the food was some of the best Indian I've ever had. We had samosas, naan bread and curry and rice, it was all very tasty. They gave us complimentary tea at the end of the meal. It was a little expensive but well worth it. We both came out very full and satisfied, we returned to our hotel on the bus to get a good nights rest before heading to Playa del Carmen ...
